Youth Minnesota Vikings Stefon Diggs NFL Pro Line Team Color Jersey

Stefon Diggs led the Vikings with five receptions and 60 yards and caught the game’s only touchdown on Saturday night in Minnesota’s 16-0 win at Green Bay.

The explosive receiver showed elusiveness to get open, concentration when he was covered and variety before the snap.

The Vikings took advantage of Diggs’ ability to line up at multiple positions. Check out the different spots where No. 14 lines up on each of his five catches in the video below:

Here’s a little more on each reception:

Q1, 11:41 remaining — Second-and-7 at the Minnesota 33

The Vikings are in 12 personnel with one running back and two tight ends. Diggs lines up in the left slot just outside of tight end David Morgan.

Morgan runs down the middle of the field, and Diggs cuts inside behind the clear out. Jake Ryan drops into coverage on Morgan, and no one is waiting on Diggs during his crossing route.

The simple throw and catch was caught at the 35 and led to a gain of 17.

Q1, 6:14 remaining — Second-and-10 at the Minnesota 28

The Vikings want to create a third-and-manageable situation and execute a quick throw to Diggs against Josh Hawkins, who is playing well off the line of scrimmage and has inside help. The play gains 8 to create a third-and-2.

Q1, 1:02 remaining — Second-and-goal at the Green Bay 4

This time, the Vikings bring in rookie guard Danny Isidora and line him up on the right side of Mike Remmers as an extra tight end. Morgan is to Isidora’s right, and Diggs is a few steps to the right of Morgan.

Adam Thielen is at the other receiver spot on the left side, and Latavius Murray is in the backfield.

The Packers are paying heavy attention to the right side of the line of scrimmage before the snap, with safeties Morgan Burnett (No. 42) and Josh Jones (No. 27) in the box at the line of scrimmage.

When the ball is snapped, Diggs and Thielen begin crossing routes while Case Keenum fakes a handoff to Murray. Burnett and Jones both come up, creating ample space for Diggs to streak past Hawkins toward the back left corner of the end zone.

Free safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is forced to decide between helping with Thielen or Diggs and chooses Thielen. Diggs has enough space to secure the catch with both feet in bounds for the score.

Q2, 9:39 remaining — First-and-10 at the Minnesota 11

This time Diggs is on the outside and has a 1-on-1 with Hawkins. Keenum gives Diggs an opportunity to make a play, and the receiver reels in the catch for a gain of 20, despite pass interference by Hawkins.

NBC immediately noted that Diggs’ contested catch rate of 59.1 percent led the NFL entering Week 16.

Q3, 4:00 remaining—Second-and-9 at the Green Bay 18

The Vikings are again in 12 personnel. Keenum fakes a handoff to Murray and rolls to the right as Diggs works his way across the field from the left slot against Jermaine Whitehead.

Diggs creates space from Whitehead almost immediately, gaining inside leverage and steps, smoothly making himself available to Keenum.
